Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and how they can affect your mental health. It's a goal-oriented, structured approach that helps individuals identify and change negative or unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve their overall well-being. 

Acceptance And Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that uses mindfulness and acceptance strategies to help individuals manage difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions aligned with their values. It differs from traditional therapies by focusing on accepting negative emotions rather than trying to eliminate them.

Interpersonal Therapy

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) is a time-limited, evidence-based treatment that focuses on improving relationships and social functioning to reduce symptoms of depression and other mental health conditions. It's based on the idea that our emotional well-being is closely linked to the quality of our relationships. IPT typically addresses four key problem areas: interpersonal disputes, role transitions, grief, and interpersonal deficits.

Mental health has always been my passion. Growing up African American and in poverty, I rarely saw people who looked like me talking about mental health—let alone seeking help for it. I made a choice to change that. I became a therapist not just to provide support, but to be a visible, relatable presence in a space that has too often felt out of reach for my community.

My mission is to normalize conversations around mental health in the African-American community and ensure that those who have been underserved feel seen, heard, and validated. I believe that representation matters—and that healing is possible when clients can sit across from someone who truly understands their lived experiences.

I approach therapy with compassion, authenticity, and cultural humility. I work to build strong, trusting relationships with my clients, knowing that real healing happens when people feel safe. I use a range of therapeutic methods — including CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, gestalt,  ACT, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic approaches that are tailored to each client’s unique needs.​
